Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 am to 12:00 pm

The cost is $2.00 per child per visit, or $15 monthly added to your membership fee (+ HST).

No childcare is available on holidays when the gym is open.

ABsolute AllStar, March 2017: Melissa Schiebel

Each month at ABsolute Fitness, we highlight one of our members who has put extraordinary effort into his or her fitness to such a level that their energy is contagious and spreads to others throughout the gym.

How long have you been training at ABsolute Fitness?
I have been training at ABsolute Fitness since 2013. I became a member once my daughter started JK and when my son was 1 1/2 years old.

What got you interested in fitness?
I have always been active. After having two babies my body changed, I needed to start a routine with something I enjoyed and joining the gym gave me the opportunity to bring my son with me while I worked out.

How do you find/make time to get your workouts in?
When I first became a member I would drop my daughter off at school and then head to the gym with my son. Both my son and I got into a routine to go to the gym as much as possible. He was excited to play with the other children in the babysitting room and was a great motivator to keep going. I also bought personal training sessions with Liliana and signed myself up to a regular session just to keep my routine. Once my son started school I continued with personal training sessions andnow make it a priority to go for "me" time.

What tip(s) would you offer someone who is just starting out?
Routine is important. Find a time of day that works for you and stick to it. If you want to be more confident with free weights I definitely recommend trying out personal training sessions. You will have a great motivator and learn different exercises.

What is your current workout routine?
My current workout routine is whatever Liliana says. I currently train 4 days a week for an hour each session. I enjoy the challenge and the different exercises/laughter she creates. I also aim for at least 3 days of cardio either at home or the gym.

In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of exercising?
I feel great after exercising, it clears my mind and seeing my body change from "skinny fat" to having muscle, being toned and strong physically and mentally is my biggest benefit from exercising.

How has being a member at ABsolute Fitness helped you on your fitness journey?
Becoming an member at ABsolute Fitness was one of the best decisions I made to stay physically active and to meet people in the community. I have made some wonderful friends here that I otherwise wouldn't have meet if I hadn't joined. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and that makes it easy to continue my fitness journey with ABsolute Fitness!
