Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 am to 12:00 pm

9 am to 11:00 am

The cost is $2.00 per child per visit, or $15 monthly added to your membership fee (+ HST).

No childcare is available on holidays when the gym is open.

ABsolute AllStar, May 2017: Karolyn Jardim

Each month at ABsolute Fitness, we highlight one of our members who has put extraordinary effort into his or her fitness to such a level that their energy is contagious and spreads to others throughout the gym.

How long have you been training at ABsolute Fitness?
I have been a member at Absolute since 2011. I started at the gym soon after moving to New Hamburg in 2011, with a short hiatus with my two pregnancies 

What got you interested in fitness?
I've always been athletic but began working out while I was training to be a Paramedic. I knew the job would be physically demanding and I wanted to have the strength to succeed. 

How do you find/make time to get your workouts in?
With shiftwork and family life, balance is key. Being on maternity leave has made working out part of our morning routine. The daycare provided has been essential for my ongoing commitment, as my kids love going to play while I exercise. 

What tip(s) would you offer someone who is just starting out?
When you're first starting out with a fitness routine, start slow. If you really want success I would recommend buying a personal training package. This will help familiarize yourself with the equipment and exercises personalized to you and your goals. The trainers push you farther than you would be willing to go on your own. The fitness classes are also an incredible way to get motivated in a group setting. You get a variety of exercises, and you can go at your own pace or push yourself as far as you want. 

What is your current workout routine?
I am currently working out 4x a week for an hour each session. I mix cardio and weight training, and use the fitness plans that were made for me during my personal training sessions.

In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of exercising?
There are so many benefits to exercising and living a healthy lifestyle. As a mother I feel it's important to show my family how to live a healthy active lifestyle and have a positive body image. 

How has being a member at ABsolute Fitness helped you on your fitness journey?
All the staff at ABsolute Fitness are so friendly and social and always ready to help you succeed with your fitness goals. The other members have become close friends, really making my fitness routine a positive experience.
