Childcare hours:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9 am to 12:00 pm

Tuesday and Thursday
9 am to 11:00 am

The cost is $2.00 per child per visit, or $15 monthly added to your membership fee (+ HST).

No childcare is available on holidays when the gym is open.

ABsolute AllStars, February 2017: Amanda and Matthew Tretheway‎

Each month at ABsolute Fitness, we highlight one of our members who has put extraordinary effort into his or her fitness to such a level that their energy is contagious and spreads to others throughout the gym.

Meet Amanda and Matthew, our members of the month.

How long have you been training at ABsolute Fitness?
Amanda:1-1/2 years

Matthew: 6 months!

What got you interested in fitness?
Amanda: I was concerned about my weight and having surgery. I wanted to be as healthy as I could.

Matthew: The mirror…LOL. Also, running a business, two kids and life can take a lot out of you. Physical activity is the best way for us to focus and unwind.       

How do you find/make time to get your workouts in?
Amanda: Matt motivates me to go!  We arrange our time around the kids schedules and try to be at the gym while they are doing their extracurricular.

Matthew: I make the time, no excuses. I'm goal oriented.

What tip(s) would you offer someone who is just starting out?
- Take it slow and steady. Your first workouts are hard. But that's your body adapting and it will over time. Keep at it!  
- Hire a Trainer. Make sure your doing the exercises correctly. Set goals with them.
- Be accountable for everything on your journey. From your training schedule to the food you consume.

What is your current workout routine?
Amanda: When I'm not training with Jo-Anne I'm training with Matt! Typically 2 days a week with Jo-Anne and the rest with him.

Matthew: 5-6 days a week. Mostly weights. This month I'm trying to focus on cardio and ABs. Rowing machine is my new favorite warmup! (Ask Amanda why its takes me 4 mins to do 100m) Ha!

In your opinion, what is the biggest benefit of exercising?
Amanda: Every day of feeling stronger and healthier!

Matthew: The results! Reaching goals and setting news ones is extreme motivating. That and Amanda likes to poke my chest now.

How has being a member at ABsolute Fitness helped you on your fitness journey?
Amanda: Jo-Anne has been a large part of my journey!  She is amazing at keeping me going and motivating me to push myself farther than I would myself

Matthew: Chris and Lilliana have helped me quite a bit with my goals and confidence. We're proud to be a part of the ABsolute Family.
